General Club Information
What is CSULB Anime Club all about?
We are a special interest club which people can join to meet others who are interested in Japanese Animation as well. This is basically a type of social club as well as promoting the understanding of the cultural medium to Japanese Animation.

Are there any fees or payment required to join the club?
The club is free to join whenever you feel like it. Seriously, Anime is an expensive hobby. We feel that the money is better spent on food and merchandise rather than some sort of plastic card that says I am a member of this so-and-so club.
Do I have to be a student to join?
Nope. Anybody is free to join the club. We truely do not have a rigid club membership system. We're just a bunch of people hanging out under one common interest, ANIME!

How do I contact the club as well as their officers?
We preferred to be contacted through our private emails located through the forums. More information is shown in this section.

Where can I get a copy of the club's constitution?
The constitution/charter regarding to this club as well as other fine clubs in CSULB are located at the Student Life & Developement Office on the second floor of the Student Union in CSULB.

Anime Club as a Special Interest Organization @ CSULB
Is Anime Club a type of art club?
Yes and no. A good 90% of the members do not even know how to draw let alone stick figures. It is more of a combination between a social gathering club and a promotional club towards the interest and appreciation to Japanese Animation. We also have a sub-group called the Art Circle, which is geared towards those take interest into the art aspect the club.
Is the club affiliated with any anime companies like Geneon and Bandai?
Not at the moment. The officers are currently discussing methods of sponsorship and affiliation at the moment.
How does the club fund most of the events and necessary equipment?
We are poor college students who put in their own money. We do ask for donations, but only during emergency situations like when the projector died. The only time you would need to put in your money is to pay for your own usage/share.

How does one become a club officer?
There isn't any set of intructions in becoming a club officer. Basically, the officers themselves nominates and elects the person in their good reason of interests of becoming an officer. We just do not like the idea of making elections with popularity contests. We don't want a George Bush running Anime Club, do we?

READ ME FIRST! Rules for Anime Club meetings.
To view these meeting rules, please visit the RULES section of the website.
What do you do during the club meetings?
Like most Anime Clubs across other campuses, we the meetings are basically public viewing of anime that were chosen to be shown. There are other events done during the meetings as well, but it's a little too difficult to explain in words.
How long do these meetings run?
The meetings generally run for 3 hours. The time and days we meet are every Thursdays from 7:00PM until 10:15PM. After the meeting, it is optional to join us for some In-and-Out burgers down South in PCH.
Do the club hold group events outside of campus such as conventions?
Yes, we attend most of the major events in California that is deemed worthy of our prescence.
What conventions has the club attended?
Here is what we normally attend: Anime Expo (Southern California), Ani-Magic (Valencia), and Fanime (San Jose). We do attend other smaller cons, but it depends whether or not the club, as a whole, would like to attend to these other smaller conventions.
Where are the meetings located?
Generally, the meetings are located either in our usual room USU 224, the Sunset Lounge, or the 1st Floor Student Union.

Do you guys have a map upon how to get to your meetings?
TADA!!!

Where is the recommended area to park for club meetings?
Look at the map above and follow the orange line that leads to the parking area. Please note that if you do not have a school parking permit, you must obtain one or else face a $35 parking ticket. A little warning, it's best to find a parking spot between 6:00pm to 6:45pm. That parking area tends to get full in such a short amount of time since it becomes General Parking after 6:00PM.
Where can I park if I'm not a student of CSULB?
You can park the same place as everyone else. You are still required to pay for the daily parking, which costs $4.00 at the moment. It may seem pricey just to park for a couple hours, but it's funnier to see that other campuses' daily parking costs are higher (Go UCLA and their $6 parking). The parking permits are located at the green dots in the map above.
