CSULB Anime Club Maid Cafe 2010
Maid and Butler requirements
This is for the those of you interested in in being a part of the CSULB Maid Cafe on April 15th, 2010. Questions about being a maid or butler go here.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
There are going to be about 20 spots open, 10 girls 10 guys. If for what ever reason we don't get enough guys to help then we can change the ratio (ie. 15 girls 5 guys or vice versa).

We are also looking for up to 12 people to work behind the scenes (prepare the food/drinks)
Commitment is a huge huge HUGE thing. If you want to be a part of the staff you have to be willing to:
Come in on a Saturday to do a Maid Cafe Orientation:
This is the day we will train you. If you don't go to this then you can't participate. The orientation will be held on the CSULB campus MARCH 20th 2010 10am!!
NOTE: We may have a second orientation if not enough people can make it, but this is unlikely.
Make/buy your own outfit:
Unfortunately we won't and can't supply you the outfits. In a perfect world we would have these made for you, but from experience in the past, that costs too much money and the quality is sh**y. Thankfully you can make the outfit to your own desire, just follow the guidelines (Guidelines for the outfit is below)
NEW RULE: You will have two weeks before the maid cafe date to have your outfit ready, that's April 1st. April 1st is when I need to see your outfit. THE DEADLINE IS APRIL 1st!!
Be friendly and nice:
You'll be serving and entertaining guests We're going to have several activities and games so the happier you are, the better. You are not required to have a 'personality', just be yourself.
DUTIES:
Maids and Butlers:
Quick and simple, you will be in charge of one table (of about 6 guests), make nice conversation (we'll have a list of topics you can through out if you don't know what to say), and serve the food (serve, not prepare, we have other people for that). Most of what we'll be doing will be explained in greater detail during the orientation.
Behind the Scenes:
Preparing the food, drinks, and some activities.
BENEFITS:
Maids and Butlers get the benefit of having 1 guest come in for discount rate of $3. Those working in the back will have 1 guest come in for free.
All workers get free food at the end.
OUTFIT REGULATIONS:
Girls/Maids:
Color: Black dress and white apron
Apron: how ever you want 
Skirt Length: floor to just above the knee high (This is a PG maid cafe, no higher than just above the knee)
Sleeve Length: Must have sleeves, can be short sleeve or long, NO straps
Collar: Must have a collar up to neck (can be either black or white), NO low cut blouses
Socks and Shoes: Black or white socks/tights/stockings and shoes.
Extra: Petty coats are fine and good, Head pieces are optional, Decal (ribbons, bows, flowers stars, whatever) are fine but don't go overboard. No animal ears.
NOTE: BODYLINE (japanese lolita/gothic clothing company) makes dresses that do fit these regulations and they are also very affordable AND shipping is SUPER fast (not more than a week). My only request is that you DO NOT wear the "cat-ear" headband that comes with some of the dresses. To put it bluntly: it's tacky and I don't want to see it. If you are worried about a dress being too short, just email me with the dress picture and I'll let you know.
EXAMPLES:
Guys/Butlers:
Color: White Shirt, black vest, black pants
Pants: Nice dress pants, please wear a belt
Shirt: Nice, button up, collared dress shirt (no polos)
Vest: How ever you want
Sleeves: long
Tie: black neck tie or bow tie
Socks and shoes: black socks and nice dress shoes (or brand new, all black sneakers)
EXAMPLES:

That's alright by me, plus if you also have a petticoat underneath the skirt that helps too.

Hi guys! So are you still recruiting maids? If so, yay!
QuestIon:
1. At what time does the event start?
2. What time should the maids/butlers be there? ( do we have to get there early? I imagine the ppl doing prep work might have to, but I dunno if the same goes for the maids & butlers).
I need to see if I can request time off work, or if it's late enough during the day, I might not have to. ^_^

Alright, the event officially starts at 7. Ideally I want the maids to get there at about 6, but I absolutely want all my maids and butlers to get there at 6:45 and no later. I generally want the maids and butlers there to great the guests that show up.
6:00pm............maids and butlers show up
6:30pm............guests start showing
7:00pm............event starts
As for the behind the scenes people, we haven't determined yet when they should show up, but we'll keep you updated on that

Should we have heard back from you yet if we sent an e-mail signing up to be a volunteer? Like even a confirmation e-mail that you received our application? I never got a reply and thought that was strange...

Same here - I haven't gotten confirmation yet, but hopefully I'm still in. >.<
Question: For maids, if we do not have a black dress, is it okay to go with a black top, or white top and a black vest, with a black skirt (so long as we keep within the theme of "black and white maid uniform?). |

Oh, sorry I thought I already said I'd take you if you were available that day.
About the outfit, If you don't have a black dress I will except a black blouse/top and a black skirt with a white apron.
